Make Your Bed

Okay, mom, if you’re reading this, I know you might be shocked by this one, because growing up I’m not sure I ever made my bed, but I’ve changed my ways. I've discovered that starting the day with a neatly made bed sets a positive tone and instills a sense of accomplishment. A tidy room helps me to be more productive during the day. Plus, returning to a neatly made bed at the end of a long day is surprisingly rewarding.

If you’re in the market for new sheets, I highly recommend these. They are so soft, don’t wrinkle, affordable and come in a ton of colors!

Laundry Organization and Systems

Do At Least One Load of Laundry

Do you feel like you can never get ahead in the laundry game? Don’t worry; you’re not alone. With a family of five, including three active boys involved in various sports, laundry seems to be a never-ending task. While I admit I'm not always perfect with this, I've found a strategy that helps me stay on top of the laundry pile: committing to completing at least one load of laundry from start to finish each week day. Yes, that means, not just putting it in the washer, but also drying and putting it away.

Additionally, having a set schedule further streamlines the process:

  • Monday: Kids' Clothes

  • Tuesday: Adults' Clothes

  • Wednesday: Whites

  • Thursday: Delicates and/or Sheets

  • Friday: Towels

I love this laundry detergent. It’s safe from harmful ingredients.

Run the Dishwasher Each Night

After dinner, it's kitchen clean-up time in our house. We tackle the task by handwashing anything that can't go in the dishwasher, while the rest gets loaded up. Our dishwasher has a handy delay start feature, so we set it to run during the night. By the time we wake up, our dishes are fresh and clean, ready to be put away while the kids enjoy their breakfast. This ensures we don’t have a counter full of dirty dishes that pile up during the day.

We use these dishwasher detergent pods that are safe from harmful ingredients and environmentally friendly.
